Plymouth Day Trips
Spend a relaxing day sailling on the classic boat Josefine in Plymouth Sound and beyond or the Tamar Estuary for £60pp.
Trips last an average of 7 hours, usually starting at 10am and finishing around tea time from Mayflower Marina. For dates and times of all the day trips available this year visit our Sailing Calendar.
Josefine can take a maximum of 12 people on each trip, children under 10 sail for half price (1 child per adult) and well behaved dogs are welcome free of charge (1 dog per adult).
You'll be able to see all the familiar Plymouth landmarks and favourite beaches from the sea, and maybe sail round the Eddystone Lighthouse!

What to Bring on a day trip:
- Camera
- Waterproofs
- Binoculars for spotting wild life
- Picnic - either bring your own or order a perfect pack-up from Jolly Jacks
- Warm clothing -it's always cooler at sea than on land!

Day trips sample itinerary
We will meet you in Jolly Jacks, (open from 9am for breakfast), and take you over to Josefine. You will be given a lifejacket for the day and a safety briefing once you're all settled on board.
Once the lines are slipped we'll hoist the sails and head out to the sound, past Mount Edgcumbe and Devonport, Drake's Island and Cawsand and sail either along the coast or straight out into the high seas towards the Eddystone Lighthouse.
We'll ask if there's anything you'd particularly like to do or see during the day - maybe a spot of fishing, sailing along the coastline, anchoring off a beach, swimming from the boat, watching wildlife, or learning to sail Josefine!

At lunch time we will either carry on sailing, hove to or anchor in a beautiful bay. You're welcome to bring your own picnic, order a pack-up from Jolly Jacks or we can arrange catering for you.
In the afternoon we start sailing back to Plymouth and will have you back ashore in Mayflower Marina in time for tea.
